Jambo

Jambo,
During my visit to Kenya and Tanzania, I was able to get to know first-hand the projects that the NGO Africa Directo develops in various communities.

An opportunity to see and feel everything that Barbara, an NGO volunteer, has been telling me and I have seen through Looks from Tanzania in recent years.

During my stay I have felt the closeness with all the people I have crossed paths with. Looks that called for a hopeful future, kind smiles and joy for visiting their home or school. They laughed after saying a few words in Swahili.

Days of frenzy, with hardly any rest, with a mixture of “polo polo” and a desire to know more in depth their lives, their environment and their aspirations.

I could not highlight any specific moment of these 17 days but of course there have been people who have penetrated into my heart. Children and adults who become heroes by moving on in a rather unfavorable present. Survivors of a past that even I dared not describe.

Every day, I have witnessed the unconditional love and dedication towards these children on the part of the different religious congregations. With their mission of dedication and fraternity, they create true homes full of hope.

I thank Barbara for her participation and organization on this trip. To the different organizations that from the first moment have opened the doors of their house to me so that I felt like I was in my own. There have been few:

– H.H. Carmelites Of The Sacred Heart Of Jesus.
– Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi.
– Sisters of Mercy.
– Congregation of the Passion.
– Claretian Missionaries.
– Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
– The NGO Kibra United Youth Against Crime.
